Why This Newlywed Couple Chose Tanzania Over New York, Cancún, the Maldives, and Europe
Arusha - Serengeti - Ngorongoro

We have adapted the review sent by our customer and revised it into an interview format.
👋 Please introduce yourself!

After dating for five years, we finally got married in December 2024! Just like many newlyweds who stress over where to go on their honeymoon, we also had a really hard time deciding on our destination
Q1. Why did you choose Africa?

At first, we looked into typical honeymoon hotspots popular in Korea, like New York, Cancún, the Maldives, and Europe. But then, we happened to watch Wonji and Kim Yong-myung's trip to Kenya on the show 'Earth Marble World Tour 2,' which completely shifted our gaze toward Africa. While researching the continent, we discovered Tanzania, a place where you can enjoy both high-energy activities and total relaxation. We chose to combine the Serengeti and Zanzibar, marking the start of a truly unique honeymoon! As it turns out, this specific combination is famous for being one of the absolute best honeymoon routes in Africa, offering both the thrill of the wild and peaceful relaxation all in one trip.

Q2. How were your travel itinerary and accommodations?

Since we had to fly out on the very day of our wedding, I honestly just remember frantically packing and rushing to the airport. We headed straight to Incheon Airport without even having a moment to let the wedding sink in! But looking back now, even that chaotic rush has become a fond memory we can laugh about.

On December 1st, our wedding day, we headed straight to Incheon Airport right after the ceremony and boarded our flight to Africa around midnight on December 2nd. After a long journey, we arrived and spent our first day resting at Planet Lodge near the airport, getting ready for the official start of our adventure.

The next day, we took a small plane and finally went to the Serengeti we had dreamed of!

Kubu Kubu Tented Camp
In the Serengeti, we stayed at Kubu Kubu Tented Camp for 3 nights and 4 days. Since it was a tent-style accommodation nestled in nature, we felt closer to the wilderness, and the view was so amazing that we found ourselves constantly gazing at the scenery even from within the camp. The time we spent slowly taking in the landscape while drinking coffee or beer was quite relaxing and enjoyable for us. Overall, it seemed like a camp where we could stay comfortably.

Neptune Ngorongoro Luxury Lodge

After the Serengeti, we stayed at Neptune Ngorongoro Luxury Lodge, and the atmosphere there felt completely different. While Kubu Kubu Tented Camp offered sweeping views of the Serengeti plains, Neptune Lodge provided a completely different atmosphere, allowing us to appreciate the rich forest scenery of Ngorongoro. Since both accommodations provide views that maximize the natural characteristics of each region, if you're a traveler who values scenery, these two lodges would be good choices!

Q3. What were the good points about Tanzania?

To be honest, the fact that scenes I had only ever watched in documentaries were actually unfolding right before my eyes was the most mind-blowing part. We didn't just see a single lion; we saw entire prides gathered together, and we even watched them feeding. It felt like witnessing the unwritten laws of the wild that I have on. At one point, a hyena was tearing into its prey while vultures circled nearby, constantly keeping watch and waiting for their moment. That is a scene you can truly only experience in Africa.

But the most surprising scene was actually watching the lions feed. Observing the raw reality of the wild directly before our eyes, we could physically feel the vividness and magnificence of African nature.

It was also very interesting to see vultures surrounding hyenas during their meal, watching for when they might steal the food. While the hyenas were tearing at their prey, the vultures cautiously circled around, looking for opportunities. This was a scene you can only see in the wild.

Observing the interactions between various animals up close and directly witnessing the order of the wild and the intensity of survival left a lasting impression from our trip, and even now that we've returned to our daily life, I often think back on it. These were truly meaningful experiences for us.

Q4. Why did you choose Ahmo Travel?

Since it was our honeymoon, we placed great importance on having a private and safe trip just for the two of us. From trip planning to budget confirmation, they actively incorporated our hopes and realistic considerations, which is why we ultimately chose Ahmo Travel.

Since no one around us had chosen Tanzania as a honeymoon destination, we were worried, and so were our parents and friends at first. However, thanks to Ahmo Travel, we were able to put aside those worries and embark on our trip, which was really great!
Q5. Review of using Ahmo Travel

The guide was also wonderful, and especially the safari vehicle quality was excellent.

During safaris, there are many unpaved roads and the weather can suddenly turn bad, right? We saw other tour vehicles get stuck or break down several times, but Ahmo Travel's vehicle was really stable with no problems at all.

Also, we received emergency contact information for unexpected situations, and this system allowed us to feel at ease throughout our trip.
Q6. Final words
We had so many concerns about where to go for our honeymoon, but I think choosing Tanzania was the right decision. Even now, when we look at photos, those feelings come back, and it remains a good memory for both of us. I hope our experience can be somewhat helpful to others who are having similar concerns!
