This trip was our honeymoon, the first trip after our wedding, which I took with my boyfriend-turned-husband.

We usually love trips where we experience new places and enjoy activities, so we were looking for a special destination we would remember for a lifetime rather than a typical resort. So we planned a honeymoon with a safari on the Tanzanian mainland, followed by independent travel in Zanzibar.

💬 Why did you choose Tanzania as your destination?

Since it was our honeymoon, we wanted to go somewhere that's usually hard to get to.

When I asked a close friend who had traveled the world to recommend the honeymoon destination that would suit me best, they suggested Tanzania. I also remembered my dad often telling stories about his trip to Africa 10 years ago. So we decided to go to Africa, a place I had long been curious about.

What attracted us most was the chance to meet wildlife and experience a safari in the Serengeti. It's an experience that's hard to have on other trips, so we felt it was a perfect fit for the special honeymoon we wanted.

💬 What was the most memorable moment or place of the trip?

Of our 6-night, 7-day itinerary with AhmoTravel, the time in the Serengeti stands out the most. Watching lions, elephants, giraffes and other wildlife right in front of us on the vast plains truly felt like being inside a movie.

The Serengeti balloon safari in particular was such a special experience that it was well worth the cost. Looking out over the endless Serengeti from the sky, and then meeting wildlife again on a game drive afterwards, is something I think we'll remember for a long time.

Tanzania isn't an easy place to visit, but that's exactly why it was full of special moments you'd rarely have on other trips. From the Chemka Hot Springs and Serval Wildlife to Serengeti game drives, a balloon safari and the Ngorongoro Crater, we got to experience many sides of Africa in a single trip.

At first we felt a bit lost about how to prepare for an African trip, but because we could leave the complicated transfers and schedules to them and focus on traveling, the trip was much more comfortable.
