Arusha - Central Serengeti - Ngorongoro - Masai Village - Tarangire - Zanzibar - Mnemba Island Tour

👋 Please introduce yourselves!

We met when we were 20 and are finally newlyweds after a decade of growing together! Starting out as a college couple, we spent 10 years constantly on the move, filling our time with countless trips and camping adventures. Surprisingly, though, we had never once traveled abroad together. When we travel, we are the type to really get our money's worth, so we always love jam-packed, active itineraries. We are definitely a couple with extreme MBTI 'J' personalities.
Q1. Why did you choose Tanzania as your honeymoon destination?
📌Our first overseas trip and honeymoon

Since this was our first overseas trip and honeymoon, we wanted it to be something special and not ordinary. We thought, if not now, when would we ever have this much time for travel again? So we wanted to create especially meaningful and precious memories. Then we heard from my wife's friend about her Africa trip through Ahmo Travel. At first, we were a bit hesitant, but before we knew it, our hearts were completely won over, and actually I was even more enthusiastic about preparing for our Tanzania honeymoon than my wife was.
📌A longing for pristine nature

We had this romantic idea about seeing magnificent natural landscapes! I was always saying things like "I want to go somewhere wide open" out of habit. I wanted to see the horizon of the vast African safari grasslands and experience the great outdoors where animals live firsthand. So, ultimately, I was drawn to the fact that the famous Serengeti grasslands were there, and I chose Tanzania for my honeymoon.
Q2. What was the most memorable moment or destination during your trip?
As expected, the highlight of our Tanzania honeymoon was the safari game drive! Serengeti and Tarangire are African safaris with distinct charms, so both places are memorable!
📌Serengeti safari enjoyed with peace of mind

We took a small plane from Arusha to Serengeti, and the endless expanse of unfamiliar terrain we saw from the sky was already getting us excited. In Serengeti, we saw so many animals from the very first day that afterwards, the pressure of "we need to see more" disappeared and we could just fully enjoy ourselves. Our guide Alex was really passionate about finding animals for us. Thanks to Alex's wide vision and attention to detail, the entire safari was pure comfort.
📌Leopards and lions right before our eyes

The most unforgettable moment was seeing a leopard and a lion right in front of us.. I can still vividly picture that leopard walking past us with such a proud, majestic grace. Honestly, how many people in South Korea can say, 'A leopard casually walked right past me'?

Also, seeing a leopard resting up in a tree and a lioness leading her pride to clear the path was truly magnificent. Since we stayed to watch for a while, the leopard actually climbed down right in front of us, and thanks to that, we were able to witness such a rare and precious scene
📌Walking safari in Tarangire

In Tarangire, we went on a walking safari. Walking directly through the heart of pristine nature made us realize all over again just how small we humans really are. It had a completely different charm from the game drives! We also got to see elephants from incredibly close up there, and we learned that they absolutely love acacia trees. It was so fascinating to watch them munch away at the branches, completely unbothered by all the sharp thorns.
📌The Little Prince's baobab tree

And the baobab tree from The Little Prince! We even took photos inside the tree, but we were startled when a bat that lived inside came to greet us. We were surprised for a moment, but then felt sorry for disturbing it. Still, it was an unforgettable experience.
Q3. How were the Chemka Hot Springs and Materuni Coffee Tour in Arusha?
📌Emerald-colored natural swimming pool, Chemka Hot Springs

We did activities at the hot springs, but with both of us on it, it was too heavy and we quickly fell into the water🤣 Still, the water temperature was perfect for swimming, and there weren't many people, so we floated around to our heart's content and enjoyed it fully.
📌Materuni Waterfall and coffee experience

The experience of making coffee while dancing and singing was really fun. At the waterfall, we did about an hour of trekking, and the waterfall scenery we encountered at the end felt so refreshing and sweet .

Q4. How were the luxury accommodations in Africa?
📌Serengeti accommodation with zebras

In Serengeti, we stayed at Lahia Tented Lodge, and during breakfast time, zebras paid us a surprise visit. Thanks to that, we had a special breakfast with zebras.

📌Tarangire accommodation with magnificent views

We'd heard it was a luxury accommodation, but when we actually went, it exceeded our imagination. The scenery was truly magnificent, and early in the morning, we could even watch elephants come to the pool to drink water- it was truly a beautiful and amazing moment.
Q5. What was the most satisfying aspect of traveling with Ahmo Travel?
📌African travel difficult to do on your own
In Korea, there still isn't much information about African travel. We were also pretty much starting from scratch. We had many questions and many concerns, but it would have been difficult to prepare on our own. Especially with work and wedding preparations overlapping, we didn't even have time to research.
📌Kind and thorough consultation
But once we decided to go through Ahmo Travel, all our worries disappeared. Through remote consultation, when we told them what we wanted, they provided high-quality information to maximize our satisfaction, which was really convenient. Their willingness to explain until we understood whenever we didn't know something was also wonderful. Thanks to Ahmo Travel, we were able to have a special Tanzania honeymoon that wasn't difficult, was safe, and was truly special.
Q6. Any final words you'd like to share?

The Zanzibar resort was also wonderful, but the highlight of African travel is definitely the safari! If you're someone who's ever wanted to try an African safari, we really recommend an African honeymoon with Ahmo Travel!
