The Seychelles Dream We Put on Hold During Our Honeymoon 6 Years Ago (feat. Tanzania & Zanzibar)
Arusha - Serengeti - Ngorongoro - Tarangire - Stone Town - Nungwi - Praslin Seychelles - Mahé

👋 Please introduce yourself.

Hello, I'm Cho Subin, 35 years old, and I'm self-employed. I enjoy scuba diving, staycations, and exploring great restaurants.

My husband who traveled with me, is 38 this year and is currently a doctor preparing to open his own practice.
💬 What kind of travel do you usually enjoy, Subin?

📌Overwhelming nature, relaxation, and good people
I love traveling where I can relax in overwhelming natural settings. Since I love scuba diving, I often choose ocean destinations. Who you meet while traveling also seems to be an important factor in determining whether it's a good destination. Right before going to Africa, I did an 11-day *liveaboard tour in Raja Ampat, Indonesia, and it was the best trip that had everything - overwhelming nature, ocean, and good people. Actually, my husband isn’t particularly interested in animals or nature, and he prefers trips where he can enjoy delicious food and relax in comfortable accommodations. But since we were both working professionals who had difficulty taking long vacations, we decided to go to Africa for our honeymoon — a special destination we could visit while we were still young. Africa was unfamiliar territory for us, and we had major concerns about language and safety. However, since it is already a well-known travel destination in Europe and America, we thought it was definitely worth trying.
💬 Why did you choose Africa as your travel destination?
My husband had about six weeks of free time while preparing to open his practice. We felt that if we didn't go now, we wouldn't be able to take a long trip for a while, so we spent a lot of time deciding where to go. This time, we wanted to visit somewhere with overwhelming natural beauty that isn't very well-known in Korea, so we chose Tanzania and the Seychelles. Actually, the Seychelles was a place we had wanted to visit for our honeymoon six years ago, but the timing didn't work out back then, so we went to Hawaii instead.

💬 If you were to compare Hawaii and Seychelles?
I recommend Seychelles for newlyweds. The islands are small, so simply relaxing within the resort is enjoyable enough. I think newlyweds who are exhausted from wedding preparations and the wedding itself would completely recover their energy by vacationing there. I recommend Hawaii for couples married for 3-5 years. There are many various things to see, so you have to go around here and there, which I think could be a somewhat tiring destination for newlyweds. It's something I learned by going in completely the opposite order.

💬 What was difficult while preparing for your Africa trip?
I even looked into books to prepare for the Africa trip. Still, the information I could collect was limited, so I felt I needed expert help. Even though I usually like planning and have arranged countless independent trips myself. For a trip where safety and well-being are guaranteed, you need sufficient information about the destination, but lack of information was what was difficult during trip preparation.

💬 How did you learn about Ahmo Travel?
Among my husband's friends, there's someone who's a smart consumer with good information. That person went to Tanzania through Ahmo Travel and recommended it to us. Since they're someone who makes very wise purchasing decisions we didn't even look into other companies based on that recommendation alone.
It turned out to be a good choice!

💬 What was your favorite destination and activity during the trip?
For me, the Serengeti was a place where I could experience living nature with all five senses. It was so completely different from the familiar cities I know, an alien landscape that was deeply moving. When else would I ever get to fall asleep to the sounds of wild animals? My husband must have loved it just as much, because he still mimics the wild animal sounds he heard back then.

My favorite activity was definitely the game drives in Serengeti. Game drives in Serengeti are like scuba diving on land. Watching wild animals living their lives faithfully day by day made me think about various things.
Since I felt something new every time, even doing it for 4 days wasn't boring at all. Next time I go, I want to fill the itinerary with just safari game drives.

My husband said relaxing in Seychelles was the best part. We went from Zanzibar to Seychelles, and while Zanzibar was also amazing, when we arrived in Seychelles, Zanzibar kind of got overshadowed...!
Still, I'd like to go back to Zanzibar (especially Nungwi) and stay longer.

Q7. Which accommodations were good?
All the accommodations were good overall, but what immediately comes to mind is Four Seasons Seychelles. There, we literally experienced the aristocratic life.

Excellent facilities, professional and attentive staff, beautiful beaches, excellent restaurants, quick feedback, early check-in/late check-out.

We experienced true relaxation. I've also experienced Four Seasons in Korea, but this was on a different level. This experience gave me such a good impression of the Four Seasons brand that I'll definitely check if there's a Four Seasons at future travel destinations.

One day my husband had severe itching, so we asked the hotel about it, and they immediately identified the cause through their resident nurse and provided both oral and topical medications right away.

Another accommodation that comes to mind is the Siringit Migration Camp. All the staff members were so kind and friendly that I always felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. Since the camp is located right inside the Serengeti, you can hear the sounds of the wild live at night. The staff also kept sharing helpful tips without ever being overbearing, like advice for the safari or what to add to certain foods and drinks to make them taste even better.

💬 How were the guides you traveled with?
Kelvin, the guide who took care of us from the airport, was such a kind guide. He gently explained various information to us as we arrived in Africa and we found everything fascinating.

Freddy, who was responsible for our safari for 4-5 days, was diligent and passionate. Even though safari tours from morning to night could be tiring, he tried to find and show us even one more animal. Even the staff at the accommodation all knew that Freddy was diligent and kind!

💬 What advantages of Ahmo Travel did you notice during your trip?
📌24-hour emergency contact service
Thanks to Ahmo Travel, even while in a distant land, I felt like I had someone reliable to count on. From the travel planning stage, they smoothly arranged our route, and during the actual trip, everything fit perfectly according to schedule without any hitches, which was wonderful.

When there was an issue with accommodation in the middle of the trip, contacting Ahmo Travel was resolved faster than talking to the accommodation directly. Having experts quickly answer questions that come up during travel, like how much to tip, was reassuring.
💬 Would you recommend Africa travel to people around you?
WHY NOT! Actually, I'm already recommending it. It seems popular for honeymoons, but it's a great travel destination for anyone- family trips, friendship trips, wedding anniversary trips! There was nothing disappointing about Ahmo Travel. Hurry up and expand to other regions so we can meet again!
