June Africa Honeymoon Review Part 2 / Zanzibar, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Nairobi, Namibia Travel Tips
나미비아 - 탄자니아 - 잔지바르 - 케냐

Starting the interview part 2 with bride Yerim Kim & groom Chansol Han!
💬 Wasn't it difficult? If you went again, is there anything you'd want to change?
[Yerim] It wasn't as difficult as I thought and I have no regrets. But there are some things I wish were different. When the representative said that three days of game drives wouldn’t be enough to see all the animals, I couldn’t relate at the time, but I painfully realized it once I got there. And taking the light aircraft was really a great choice.
🌟 Ahmo Travel always emphasizes to clients that a safari game drive is the highlight of the trip. There is a massive difference in the quality of the experience between just spotting animals by luck on the road and actively going out to track them.
Tanzania is a massive country, roughly nine times the size of South Korea, and the Serengeti itself is vast. Spotting wildlife just passing through requires immense luck. To truly observe these diverse wild animals up close, having sufficient time and a focused game drive itinerary is absolutely essential!
🌟 In fact, the trip from Kilimanjaro National Park to Serengeti National Park is about 850 km, which takes roughly 16 hours by car. Because of the rough road conditions, long-distance driving is inevitably much more exhausting than you might expect. To navigate such a vast landscape efficiently and comfortably, taking a light aircraft flight becomes a more practical choice.
💬 You started your African trip with Zanzibar. How was Zanzibar?

[Yerim] It was pure peace! Because everyone frequently says 'pole pole' and 'no problem,' my anxiety completely melted away, and I found myself adapting to their relaxed pace.
[Sol] On our last day in Zanzibar, we were eating lobster on the terrace watching the sunset, and we saw locals swimming & diving in the ocean - they looked so happy and carefree. Usually when you go to tourist destinations, they're so touristy that there are more outsiders than locals, and it's hard to encounter local life. In Tanzania, I felt like I briefly stepped into their way of life.
💬 What was your best memory from Zanzibar?
[Yerim] The dolphin tour! Even though I have done dolphin tours in places like Guam and other countries, this one felt incredibly special for some reason. The memory of swimming with four dolphins is something I'll never forget, and I couldn't stop raving about it to my husband. Even though I swallowed tons of seawater, I was truly happy.
💬 Was there anywhere in Zanzibar that was disappointing?

[Yerim] I'm hesitant to mention places that weren't great since they might have been wonderful for someone else. When we went to Nakupenda Beach, famous for the ocean path that appears during low tide, it was high tide and very cloudy, so it wasn't the scenery we wanted to see, which was disappointing. But if we come back, I'd love to swim there and spend the whole day enjoying it!
💬 How were the Serengeti and Ngorongoro?
[Yerim] The Serengeti was exactly the natural landscape I really wanted to see! Watching a baby cheetah with its mother looking at zebras, seeing lions fail at hunting, watching a pride of lions napping under trees - observing animal life during game drives was so captivating. After visiting the Serengeti, I watched The Lion King and all the animals we encountered appeared in it, which made me want to go back again.
[Sol] Still, we stopped at Olduvai Gorge on the way, so it wasn't boring. If we had a bit more time, we would have eaten nearby, which is a shame. Oh, and there's a gift shop near Ngorongoro but it's expensive. The airport might actually be cheaper. In Africa, they quote really high prices for souvenirs, so you have to bargain down to at least half price. We negotiated hard whenever they quoted expensive prices too. You have to shake out every coin from your wallet to make your point.

💬 How was your guide James? Were you satisfied?

[Yerim] Our Tanzania guide James was amazing. Since our travel schedule was tight and we had limited time for game drives, he did his best to show us the animals we wanted to see. You can definitely tell an experienced guide makes a difference.
[Sol] Our Kenya guide was also kind and great. We became close enough to sing Jambo songs together and even went to a Korean restaurant together. He taught us a lot of basic Swahili too. Hakuna Matata!
💬 Let's move on to Kenya. How were Crescent Island and Nairobi?

[Yerim] Crescent Island was truly liberating. I experienced the special feeling of becoming one with nature while walking with animals on Crescent Island.Crescent Island is bigger than expected, so I recommend taking about 2 hours to explore it leisurely.
[Sol] Nairobi definitely felt like a big city. It was bustling and hectic. The atmosphere was clearly different from relaxed Tanzania.
💬 How was Namibia, which you visited personally outside the tour? You even did a self-drive despite having a tight schedule.

[Sol] Namibia seems like a place that could change people's perception of Africa. The cities are very clean and the infrastructure is excellent. I was scared because TV shows and blogs often mention that unpaved roads are dangerous, but it was better than I thought. Still, it really is a place where you need to be careful.
💬 Which accommodation was most memorable among the places you stayed?

Serengeti Acacia Bliss Lodge. Seeing giraffes grazing in front of the lodge really made me feel like I was in Africa. I'd recommend this lodge if you want to feel like becoming one with nature.
💬 If someone you know was going to Africa, what advice would you give them?
[Sol] Don't be scared! Anyone who likes documentaries probably thinks about wanting to visit the Serengeti at least once. If you actually go to Africa, all your preconceptions about Africa will be completely shattered.
[Yerim] I've been to over 30 countries, but this was the first travel destination with such a high response rate. So many people DM'd me saying my travel stories were healing and asking me to post more. Realizing that what I found wonderful could also be wonderful for others, I tend to tell people you can definitely go too..

💛 A message for future customers considering Ahmo Travel
[Yerim&Sol] If you trust Simple Safari and travel with them, you'll really be able to achieve the bucket list dreams you wanted to fulfill with great memories and without burden. I used to think African travel was something not everyone could do, but it seems like a destination anyone can visit.
