I'm a recent college graduate who absolutely loves "The Lion King!" I felt that if I didn't go now, I might never get another chance to take enough time off for a long trip to Africa, so I boldly decided to go for it.

💬Why did you choose Africa for your graduation trip?

Ever since I watched The Lion King as a kid, I’ve been fascinated by the endless savanna, the circle of life, and the philosophy of "Hakuna Matata." Since then, a dream took root in my heart to one day see and walk through the African plains, especially the endless grasslands of the Serengeti. Recently, as an adult, watching Mufasa: The Lion King reignited that burning desire. Realizing that there would never be a better time than now, I finally made the decision to embark on this Serengeti journey.

💬What was the most memorable moment of this trip?

Before heading out on this trip, I watched some videos by the YouTuber Kwak Tube, which inspired me to get the same cornrow hairstyle at the very same barbershop he visited! When I got lost trying to find the shop, some local Zanzibar friends kindly guided me there. Later in the trip, riding in a hot air balloon over the Serengeti plains to watch the animals was on a completely different level than doing a safari by car. The great migration of the wildebeest and zebra herds—something you could never experience in Korea—was truly spectacular. To think that I, who used to only watch these in documentaries, was seeing this with my own eyes! The Ngorongoro Crater was also absolutely breathtaking, a landscape beyond words. Just being in the African Serengeti felt completely overwhelming and wonderful.

Additionally, my guide, Alex, was so kind and explained things in simple terms for me since I couldn't speak English well, which was really great. I suffered from diarrhea while in Africa, but after the afternoon drive ended, Alex told me there was a hospital nearby, and he went with me to get the prescribed medicine.I improved a lot, so I could continue the next day's itinerary in good condition.
